Comprehensive New Patient Exam
At Fiorentini Family Dentistry, your first visit may be different than any other new patient appointment you have had in the past. If you have had recent x-rays, please request to have them forwarded to our office.
Your initial appointment is essentially a fact gathering appointment. A comprehensive review of your previous medical history, detailed intraoral and extraoral exam, necessary clinical radiographs, and intraoral digital photographs will enable us to communicate with you to determine what your comprehensive needs and concerns are. During this exam, we are looking for:
- Gum Disease
- TMJ Disorder
- Tooth Decay or Fracture
- Failing Dental Work
- Cosmetic Issues
- Oral Cancer
If you are in optimal oral health, treatment may also be preformed at the first visit. If there are some concerns about the condition of your oral health, a comprehensive treatment plan will be created by Dr. Fiorentini which will be reviewed and all treatment options will be presented. Early detection and treatment of minor issues can help to prevent more invasive procedures in the future. Our goal is to make sure you understand everything that is going on in your mouth and that you make best decisions for your continuing oral health.
Emergency Exam
If your initial visit is of an emergent nature (infection, swelling, pain), the focus of this visit will be providing you with care to initiate relief from pain and infection. A comprehensive exam will then be subsequently scheduled.
