The very best way to achieve this is through an individually tailored prevention program designed through the cooperative effort of the patient, the dentist, and our dental staff.
Our goal is not to spot treat certain teeth, but to treat the mouth as a whole. We want to ensure that you know the current problems, different solutions on how to correct them, and every step that will be taken along the way to get you to achieve the smile you deserve. We want our patients to understand what is going on in their mouth and to make an educated decision and have confidence that they know they are on the right path. Once all different solutions are talked through, you and Dr. Fiorentini will decide on what is the best course of action for you. We always treat our patients like they are family and our goal is to give you the care your deserve.
Dental implants are biologically compatible titanium posts that are placed into bone and act as an artificial tooth root. They are made from the same material that is used in joint replacement. The implant becomes integrated into the bone over a short healing time, giving it the strength needed to support your bite.
Implants can be used to replace a single missing tooth all the way up to an entire edentulous arch!
WHAT CAN DENTAL IMPLANTS DO FOR ME?
- Permanent fixed replacement for missing teeth
- Prevent movement of adjacent teeth
- Preserve bone integrity
- Promote a full facial profile
Invisalign is a set of custom clear aligners created specifically for you that helps guide your teeth into correct position over time. These aligner trays are made of smooth, comfortable, and practically invisible plastic that you wear over your teeth. There are no metal brackets and no metal wires to tighten! Every patient is different and every case is customized using the latest technology to insure that each tooth is in its ideal position. Treatment times will differ based on the complexity and severity of correction required. Every two weeks, a new aligner is worn as the teeth are moved to their desired final position. You’ll achieve a great smile with little interference in your daily life, and none of the painful wire tightening appointments or eating restrictions. The best part about the whole process is that most people won’t even know you’re straightening your teeth!
Chairside Economical Restorations of Esthetic Ceramic or CEREC® for short is a new state-of-the-art method of reconstructing tooth restorations. CEREC® uses computer-assisted design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) to offer single-day restorations for patients. This new technology has revolutionized ceramic restorations such as crowns and veneers for patients so that there is no longer a wait between preparing the restoration and finally receiving the finished product. With CEREC®, the technology is used while you are sitting in the dental chair, which is both economical for you and your dentist. The restorations created are metal-free and tooth colored to restore your tooth to its natural beauty, strength and function. With CEREC®’s CAD-CAM technology, these ceramic restorations can all be done in one single visit to the dentist.
Root canal therapy is a treatment used to save a tooth when the tissue, blood vessels and nerves inside of a tooth have become inflamed. This can be due to physical trauma to the tooth, cracked or fractured teeth, extensive caries, or failure of a previous root canal.
Teeth whitening and bleaching is a popular procedure done to brighten your smile. First, speak with your dentist to see if whitening is a good option for you. Depending on the type of discoloration that is present on your teeth, whitening may or may not be effective. Common reasons for teeth discoloration result from using tobacco, staining from food or drinks such as coffee and red wine, and poor oral hygiene. Tooth whitening is most effective on surface stains. Although whitening is helpful for the appearance of teeth, it is not permanent and stains may recur over time.
Composite restorations are a white, tooth color filling material utilized to match the natural aesthetics of your adjacent teeth. These high quality, durable restorations have taken the place of older style amalgam (silver) fillings. Unlike the silver fillings, composite restorations can restore teeth to their original look and function while maintaining superior strength. Dr. Fiorentini will shade match all composites so that the restoration looks just like a natural part of the tooth.
Cosmetic dentistry refers to any dental work that improves the appearance of a person’s tissue and teeth especially the position, shape, size, alignment and overall smile appearance. Modern cosmetic dentistry has developed numerous quick, painless, and affordable ways to address the variety of problems that can arise in the appearance and dental structure of teeth. These treatments help to build and protect bright and healthy smiles that can enhance appearance and improve self confidence.
A porcelain crown is a tooth shaped cap that is used to help replace teeth that cannot be restored using a composite restoration. They are suggested for patients who have suffered damage to the tooth due to severe decay or tooth fracture and require a solution that is provides greater strength. Porcelain crowns match the shade of teeth to give an aesthetic, natural appearance. Crowns cover the entire tooth above the gumline.
Porcelain veneers are thin pieces of porcelains that are custom made to go on front teeth and provide enhanced aesthetics. Veneers require minimal preparation, in some instances no preparation, and can correct a number of cosmetic issues.
WHAT CAN PORCELAIN VENEERS DO?
- Close space between teeth
- Restore chipped teeth
- Cover unsightly stains or discoloration
- Restore unevenly size or misshapen teeth
- Give a bright smile that cannot be achieved with bleaching alone
- Correct crooked teeth
A tooth that is severely damaged may need to be removed.
Before removing your tooth, we will provide a local anesthetic to numb the area where the tooth will be removed. Nitrous Oxide is available as well to help relieve anxiety and help you relax during the procedure.
After the tooth is removed, you may need stitches. You can gently bite down on a cotton gauze pad placed over the wound to help stop the bleeding. The removed tooth can be replaced with an implant, a denture, or a bridge. A bridge is a replacement for one or more (but not all) of the teeth and may be permanent or removable.
Dentures and partial dentures are removable dental appliances that are used to replace teeth that are missing. Full dentures offer artificial teeth to those that have lost all of their teeth on either the upper or lower arch of their mouth. Obtaining a denture will restore function and appearance to those who have lost all of their teeth. Dentures allow many patients to eat, speak and improve the appearance of their mouth. Partial dentures are recommended for those who have not lost all of their teeth and have some teeth remaining. The partial denture will consist of artificial teeth that will replace missing teeth and metal clasps that clip on to remaining teeth to help hold it in place.
All-on-Four is a advanced dental procedure that can restore a patient’s entire smile in as short as a day! This system uses four implants that are strategically placed to support a full-arch denture. This minimally invasive procedure is faster, and more affordable than a full arch of traditional dental implants and crowns.
3D Scanning or CBCT has become increasingly important in treatment planning and diagnosis in implant dentistry. The images produced from this type of machine create a 3D model of your jaw and provide the ability to view your mouth in a way that is impossible with traditional 2D x-rays.
Nitrous oxide, also referred to as “laughing gas,” is commonly utilized to relieve and anxiety and help the patient relax during dental procedures.
Nitrous oxide does not put you to sleep. You can still respond to your dentist’s requests and answer questions. A patient will first inhale 100% oxygen through a soft nosepiece before nitrous oxide is slowly mixed in with the oxygen. Nitrous oxide usually starts to work in less than five minutes. We will adjust the mixture of nitrous and oxygen to a level to ensure your comfort.
